Let's Use the Power of Ethics to Build a Better World
Society is facing some extraordinary challenges. Partisanship and nationalism are on the rise, autocrats are deploying new technologies to crush dissent, climate change is accelerating, war is raging in Europe, and racial, gender, and economic injustice continue—just to name a few issues.
On this Global Ethics Day, Carnegie Council invites you to join us in taking action to empower ethics. Together we can raise awareness and work toward addressing the most critical issues facing society.

Special Global Ethics Day Content from our Initiatives & Senior Fellows
The Carnegie Climate Governance Initiative (C2G)posted a special message for Global Ethics Day featuring Executive Director Janos Pasztor. "Ethics needs to be at the center of our solution frameworks as we struggle to address the climate crisis,” says Pasztor.
Senior Fellows Anja Kaspersen and Wendell Wallach from the Artificial Intelligence & Equality Initiative (AIEI) put together a playlist of four notable podcasts from the past year. These podcasts showcased discussions about many of the ethical issues connected to emerging technology.
Senior Fellow Arthur Holland Michel, also a member of the AIEI Board of Advisors, posted a video on “Six Questions for New Surveillance Tech,” looking at issues connected to emerging technology and privacy. “The best way to address these questions is to have an honest, inclusive discourse where everyone has a voice,” says Michel.
And don’t miss a special Twitter Spaces discussion on Friday, October 21 at 2pm ET with Doorstep co-hosts Tatiana Serafin and Nikolas Gvosdev, senior fellows for the U.S. Global Engagement Initiative (USGE), wrapping up the week’s festivities and looking ahead to a busy November, highlighted by the midterm elections in the United States.
